Set up your Workout Environment for Success

One of the best things you can do to get started in your workouts – or keep you going strong – is to set up your workout environment in advance.  This isn’t hard to do and the payoff is big.

Setting up your workout environment is easy to do and is a powerful step to showing your commitment to having a successful workout.  Think about it this way.  If for example you are wanting to read each night before you go to bed, then you would set up that environment by simply putting your book by your bedside.  And you’re done – see how easy that was!  Setting up your workout environment can be just as easy.

To set up your workout environment follow these tips:

  1. Decide what kind of workouts you want to be doing.  Are you doing weights at the gym?  Or are you just planning to workout at home with a mat, dumbbells, bands, and a ball?
  2. Make a list of what you need.  Look back at #1 – I cheated for you!  Making the list is easy to do and don’t worry if you forget something.  You can always add to the list.  And for those of you hitting the gym, your list could include getting out your workout clothes, headphones, car keys, or an after workout healthy snack.
  3. Get what you need!  Ok so you’ve made the decision – you’ve made the list – now make the effort!  Simply follow through on the list and get everything set up.

Remember that this list doesn’t need to be perfect.  You can add to it or take stuff off it as you go.  If you’re stuck and not sure what to take – check out one of our workout programs or video tutorials and look at the items we use.  

Setting up your workout environment in advance is extremely powerful.  Among the many things that it does for you, is the simple fact that these items become visual reminders of your workout.  By having them out they are a reminder for you to do that workout.  It strips away excuses and helps you to put your best foot forward in going after that workout.  The easier you can make getting that workout in – the better!!!
